Cattle-breeder veterinary center Krnjaca is established by government of People Republic of Serbia in 1951 year like first established republic`s center. Like first one, Center had a pioneer`s mission to apply and introduce artificial insemination in for that time conservative way of thinking of our farmers, and to help in foundation and developing of other A.I. stations in Republic, which was through sixties of XX century altogether exactly thirteen.

In long-lasting period of working, realised significant contribution of Center in insemination and cattle breeding development generally. Center was used a lot of very good bulls, from domestic and import population also, simmental and black-white breed. In Center worked and still working very qualified specialistes in this area, well drilled, educated in country and abroad, which was able to answer on many challenges, like professional, organization, and others also which intruded in this long period of Center existence.

Activity of Center when it was a part of Veterinarian Institute (since year 1951 till June 1st 1994) significantly helps in development and creating professional and personnel politics except financial.

Significant improvement in job Centar fulfil after independence and encircling of work, when came important business results and bigger number of insemineted cows. We realise continuity in working process and selection of young bulls from the best sires and bullmothers. This choice enable more effective entry selection of calves – young bulls in semen production, and hereby more significant influence on cattle-breeding development.
Beside bulls selection and semen production, we've organized following jobs like solving infertility problems, collecting offspring data and linear evaluation of firstcalved cows. Contribution to this jobs and development of our Center enable our own provender production from our land, for bulls nutrition.
In last time, Center Krnjaca have successful cooperations with Besamungsstation Hohenzell – Austria and German Genetics International Cloppenburg – Germany. Cooperation are based on common purchase and production of bulls and import of the best bulls semen, simmental and holstein breed.
